Previously, I have listed some very nice WordPress themes for download. Still, we cannot ignore bloggers who still have their blogs hosted in Blogger (blogspot.com). If you are having a blogspot.com blog, and is using the xml new Blogger (previously known as Blogger Beta), here is a list of beautiful, nice, neat XML templates that you may want to try them out.
Before listing those templates, I would like to remind you that, please backup a copy of your current Blogger template. Just in case you want to change back to your current template later. And also please bare in mind that once you have upload a new template, all your widgets data configuration might be lost. So do whatever backup that you need to do before upload and try out the new templates.
How to upload a new template? (in XML new Blogger)
- Download and unzip the template file.
- Login to your Blogger Dashboard.
- Go to Layout > Edit HTML.
- Browse for the XML template file that you have just downloaded and unzipped.
- Click on the Upload button.
- Save template and you’re done.

I’m “love at first sight” with Simpress’s 3 column design. I tried it with my blog. However, I found some complications. For instance, the date of each post doesn’t seem to fit correctly into the box. Also, the paragraph/line spacing tends to change after inserting the first photo.
I’m certainly no expert in HTML codes, and don’t know how to fix these. Can you help me on this please?
Btw, may I know how to customize the tab at the top?

Thanks for dropping by and I’m glad you found a template that you like. I like Simpress as well. I’ve just checked that template, the date of each post is out of alignment.
For the date, you can go to Setting > Formatting and change Date Header Format in the format of (for example) April 01, 2008. It will now slightly fit to the box, but still very incomplete.
Sorry, I’m not sure on the paragraph and line spacing issue. For customizing the tab on top, you will have to look into the xml codes itself. Refer this for further instructions.
Oh by the way, the date fix stated in that tutorial is not accurate. You have to change Date Header Format instead of Timestamp format.

Yeah, thanks for the free blogger templates. You won’t be taking them off soon right? I would love to change my template now but when I think of re-editing all those html / javascript for long hours, i shiver in fear. =p

What kind of error are you receiving? Is it XML syntax error? or something like:
“Widgets are about to be deleted
Please confirm that the following widgets should be deleted. All the widgets’ configuration data will be lost.”
If it’s the above message, you can click on the “CONFIRM & SAVE” button. (Make sure you do backup for your current template)
I’ve downloaded and test this template in my blogspot account and it works fine. Do let me know the details for follow-up.

its not a matter of the widgets. what i do is, i’ll open the file,and copy the html thing into my “edit html” box. then when i press save or preview, there’ll be a message that goes “there’s been an error with. html suppose to end with >;”
then i also did try ur way. to browse and upload the file straight into the box. what happens is, it wont be able to be uploaded because it’s a “zipped file”. i can view it normally on my pc though. but not upload it.
what shall i do?
